2g For A Gold Fish

The one thing that opens up bettas to disease is fluctuating temperatures. In the wild yes they do get differing temps but these arent wild caught mostly.
Its like getting a tropical fish tank and not putting a heater in it, i personally wouldnt do it but each to their own.

Depends on your water temperature, kid, and how stable it is. Have ya tested it, yet?

Also, most heaters made for tanks less than 5 gallons have no control knob, and tend to describe themselves as "raising the temp to a few degrees greater than room temperature!"

I have a friend with one of those, and she tells me that her bowl has constant temperature fluctuations. I imagine this has something to do with her wood stove. In either case... a small tank like that can be a humane home with proper care, perhaps move your questions to the betta or invert section?

so i should get a heater than :look:

can i fit guppies in my 2 g like 2 of them coz i have guppies in my 25 g males & felmales & i have 10 fry i would not like any one fry so can i move my 2 males in a 2 g they can live them

Just because the fish are small doesnt mean they should be kept in small tanks. You would be better posting about what to put in the beginner section.

you could put some stick insects in a 2 gal but not with water obviosly.
Thanks
Mat

Not albino frogs!!!!! The albino's are more likely to be African Clawed frogs which grow pretty big and need big tanks, they will eat fish!!!! What you want is an African Dwarf Frog (ADF). You can tell the difference as ADF's have webbed hands and feet and their eyes are not as buggy as ACF's. Also ADF's are quite narrow around the waist area, make sure you get the right one if you've only got a 2 gallon

The Jr. heaters they sell at Wal-mart would be fine for a 2 gallon. I have them in mine..and they vary from 78 to 80 degrees..depending on if the heat is on in the building (hea toff...drops to 78, heat on rises to 80..that's not a bad fluc. and it's gradual).

A betta generally needs a heater, they are tropical fish. If the water isn't atleast 78 degrees they get rather sluggish and can get sick due to stress (that's what opens them to disease..they do live in a toilet you know).

You could get a betta or maybe a few Endlers perhaps.

Not endlers in a 2 gallon. They're not as small as all that and they are still active, like other livebearers.

Have you thought about shrimps? You need to maintain good water quality, but their bioload is very low.
