i was going to get a oscar but i now realise that this tank is way to small.....can someone recomend a good predatory fish i can keep happily on his own in this size tank.
thanks in advance daniel

One suggestion could be 'prehistoric monster fish' Thalassophryne amazonica. Link Though you might have trouble tracking one down and they are far from active.

A fairly demanding idea could be South American Leaf fish, Monocyrrhus polyacanthus, tricky in their water quality conditions and almost always need of live food. Profile here

You said 'a predatory fish I can keep happily on his own', but would you consider dwarf puffers? In a 2ft tank you could have a few and they might not be the most predatory of fish they are entertaining.

I agree, dwarf puffers would be a good idea. Most predatory fish require larger tanks than the one you have sadly.
