29g Saltwater Nano Tank

Salinity is 1.024 in the tank right now. I see what you mean @Colin_T - next time I will wait 24 hours before adding new water.

Is it true you should wait 6 months before adding live coral to a new saltwater tank? (I’m just getting ideas in my head)

Very interesting post. I have wanted to try this in my office at work but shy’d away from lack of knowledge. Will be watching for further development. Good luck!

It will be a while until I get stock, but I’m still super excited. :)

I can’t stop from playing with the light, lol. ?

I waited about a month before adding soft corals you want to wait a little longer before you add lps corals.

Oh and its too late to tell you now but its easyer to aquascape the live rock when there is no water in the tank.

I can scape the rock once I drain it to replace the tap with RO water.

Hmm, ok. I’ll probably wait until after I get stock.

Speaking of stock... here’s what I’m thinking:
  • 2x Clownfish
  • 1x Watchman Goby
  • 2x Scarlet Banded Shrimp
  • Some sort of crab (any suggestions?)
Does that sound good?

Sounds good to me. I tend to stay away from crabs other than hermits since some species have a reputation of eating corals such as emerald crabs.

How about the scarlet hermit crab?

Probably the clearest it’s going to get without floss:

It is relatively clear, but still not crystal clear.

Freshwater and Saltwater right next to each other!
