29g Saltwater Nano Tank

You only need carbon if you get a leather coral as they release chemicals that slow the growth of other corals.

All corals release chemicals to inhibit coral growth around them. Just give them space and they are usually fine. But watch brain corals because they have nocturnal war tentacles that come out after dark and sting and kill nearby corals.

Danggg, get me some of those!

I won’t move any of the rocks, because @Colin_T does make a good point.

Is livestock next? Or should I get live coral next?

You can glue rocks with tissue paper and super glue alternatively you can add eggcrate below the rock so it doen't move much.

A little to late for that now... :/

The rocks are showing stability and the powerhead has been on all night. I’m not going to be keeping crabs or anything that may try to rearrange, so I’m not that fearful of them falling.

I’m considering getting more substrate for the watchman goby. I hear they like to burrow, and I don’t have that much sand in there now. (Just around 20lb)

Do you think this would be a good idea?

I wouldn't bother adding much more sand. An inch is sufficient for most species. You can put caves in there or pvc pipe.

Ooh, ok! (When I get more rocks, I will probably make a stable cave for him)

I’m buckling down on my schoolwork, so I can go to work more! More work = more fish money ?

I will give the tank a little bit before I get the Goby.

Are the requirements for the black watchman goby, the same as the yellow?

beats me, got a scientific name for them?
I must be crazy, but I can’t find a name or even a photo for what I’m thinking off. :laser:

I’ll get back to you if I can find it, lol.

I will most likely go with the Yellow Watchman anyway.

I’m thinking of making a cave like this for the goby:

Do you think he would use it?

(The pvc will go under the sand, and just the shell/rock will be above the surface)

That is very interesting! REALLY cool idea! Would the size pipe you need be able to be buried under your 1” of sand?
I would definitely need to get more sand, so I could bury the pipe.

Not sure what size yet, but it would definitely need to be big enough for it to comfortably swim through.

I may just get a lot of small pieces of rock, and make a cave. I hear they prefer burrows, so I may stick with the pvc idea.

I just saw a little crab!

It’s very hard to see, but it was brown and about the size of a small spider.

I’m super excited to see life in the tank!!

I just found this worm-like creature:

Maybe I should stop looking for things?

It has super small legs. Maybe a bristle worm?
