Hi there,

I just bought a 29 Gallon tank and was wondering what I should put in it. I really like Angels and Sharks. Any comments or suggestions?

If I had an empty 29 gallon around, I think I would buy 5 young angelfish and keep a watch on them until they paired off. After I had a pair, I would trade in the other 3 angels for some supplies etc.

A 29 gallon is just enough space for a pair of angels.

I appreciate your input. Do you think it could house Red Tail / Rainbow Sharks? They grow to about 4-5".

Unfortunately the tank's "footprint" is too small for sharks. Their aggression can be pretty intense if they aren't given enough space. In my opinion you would need a 4 foot tank to keep sharks and angels, and the tank must be at least 18 inches deep for mature angelfish (a standard 55 gallon tank would work).

Do the Angel fish need certain type of decor in the tank? IE: Plants, open space, ect.

I would go in a different direction. I'd go with a shoal of cories, a shoal of mid-water swimmers and a centerpiece fish like a gourami or betta.
