270 Gallon Tank

I say go with the Tunze nano stream powerheads. They are the same price as the Hydors for similar flow rates, but look much better construction (far too easy for life to get into a Hydor that is turned off) and have the Tunze reputation behind them.

For skimmers, look at the Tunze range. I can't remember but I think you would be on the border of 9002 and 9005 territory. Otherwise look into Deltec. Ideally get some second hand stuff. Always saves money then.

Well I got two MP 1200 power heads with flow deflectors and some base rock (was going to use for a malawi set-up but cba anymore, around 20 lb worth).This tank is now going to be over here (where all my other tanks are) so I can go with the giant frogfish, I managed to dig up an article by Scott michael in an old PFK issue I had which had information on a few including A.Maculatus, histrio histrio and A.commerson, the 'giant'.
Still I have no funds, but my b-day is in 1 month and hopefully I will be able to sell my corn snakes and vivarium and get £250 from that, plus the £95 I already have, plus b-day money (hopefully will come to around £200 after friends/family add there bit )
£545
£200 will go to water dragon vivarium
£200 (A hopefully reasonable estimate, will be much more eventually but that will hopefully just be for the initial set -up) on 270gal sump system.
That leaves £145 for the marine set up.I'll be using my 45 gal as a sump...The thing is the skimmer is gonig to cost that alone....Any ideas on how to save some money

After the suggestions on what to do for my 270gal I decided I wouldn't have enough money so...

Hmm, well.I've just drilled (going to fit one of my 45 gals under it) my 55gal for marine.Any ideas for that?I would like a peaceful colourful set up, but with the bigger kind of fish you could have in it.As you probably know, people who don't know much about fish usually look at a tank and say it boring, or empty...But it's actually properly stocked.I would like to keep maintenance to the min...Especially since it will be my first marine, and it will be round my mums so and I only go there every 2 weeks.

Well, no, really I don't know what I want lol.However those giant frogfish look awesome...Are they hard to keep?I can't find any information on them, just pics.Could I put some corals with them?And you say a smaller eel, is there one in particular?
I recon I would get fed up with trying to find money for corals in a reef, so for now it's out of the picture.

So basically I'm looking for ways to save some money.Has nothing to do with my 270gallon.

Wish people would read more carefully sometimes.Its really not confusing if you read the thread, if you skip the suggestions on what to go for (reef or preds), but read the rest, only takes 2 mins.

No problem, good news, just sold an old 45gallon, stand, rocks/ornaments, gravel (lots) and vac, old fluval 4 and ancient fluval 3 (fluval internals are really reliable) for £70.

Going out this weekend to get the materials for the vivariums as that brought my cash up to £160!
