Hi guys. Im buying a Juwel Vision 260 litre aqaurium and am going marine. Ive been doing a fair bit of reading and have been advised not to use a filter and instead rely on plenty of water movement and live rock. I keep reading conflicting advice on this and am just wondering if going in without a filter is advisable and how much live rock would be needed for a tank of this size.

You will be perfectly fine with just live rock and decent water movement (you need at least 10 times the tank volume in water flow for filtration, I would recommend going for 20-30 times flow though which will then suit for corals).

You dont have to use the external filter. Most people only use them on marine tanks to fill with chemical filtration media (namely phosphate and nitrate removers) and they take everything else out of it (you can also add live rock rubble to it if you wish).

For this size of tank I would recommend around 25-30kg of LR.
