I know there is a sticky somewhere on collodial silver, but I don't really have time right now to read through every inch of it looking for the dosage for 22ppm (I'm getting screamed at for being on the computer right now as it is). I am going away in two days and have a betta who came down with a troubling mystery ailment. Nothing is touching it; anti-bacterials, fugicides, velvet cures, ick cures, salt, and the list goes on. Another poster said a similar ailment was cured with collodial. This is a last-ditch effort to save him.

The fish is in a 2.5 gallon hospital tank currently. I need to know what the appropriate dosage of 22ppm collodial silver would be for him. Is there a formula to calculate it? I don't want to dump in too much and OD him, or put in too little and have it be ineffective.

I put in half a bottle of 10ppm (100ml) in a 10 gallon tank, and put the rest in the next day cos that's all I had. I don't think you can OD with CS.

I know Wuv and the rest use quite high concentration CS (around 1100ppm) at a dosage of drops per gallon, so I would put in at least 50ml pending one the experts giving a more accurate dose.

I put in 8 drops of 550ppm per 5 gallons, just as preventative... I put in like 1/4 tsp into a 2.5G tank as a treatment.

Seriously, you could probably put the entire bottle of that stuff in and you wouldn't OD him. I'd try to dump some of it right on top of him so he gets it right on him.

Go nuts with it - I'd probably put in a couple TBSP in there...

1 drop of 1100ppm is used for 1 gallon. 1100/22 = 50. So for 1 drop of 1100 used, you would use 50 drops of 22ppm.

In the case of a 2.5g tank, you would use 125 drops of 22ppm CS.
