Hey all
Ok, I have a 22 uk gallon (100L) cube. It was a marine reef set-up but since i wanted a change its now empty. It has a Fluval 304 external filter which filters the water 10 times p/h. And also the internal filter it can with which filters the tank 3 times p/h. It has 2 x 15w bulbs and i live in a hard water area with a pH of 8.0 - 8.2.
I want something interesting and different. In the past i have kept Community, Angels, Discus, Carp, Dwarf puffers, Marine corals, inverts and fish.
Is there a fish suitable with the equipment i have that will live in a 22g with those water qualities? Help!

if you really feel like becoming a chemist, you can alter the chemistry of your water with a buffer and make it softer- BEFORE you introduce anything. my dad did this, and we lost three Tetras, all our Frogs and a few Shrimp because the buffer was too much for them.

if not, you might be able to make an Auratus 'community'. Auratus are African Cichlids, very nice little things. they grow to about four inches, with males being black with brown and white bars, and females yellow with white bars. you might get away with a pair or two in that tank, along with a few cleaners (Shrimp, Snails, etc)

if you're not into Cichlids, a community of Livebearers, Tetras, Cories and Shrimp might be nice. i find the more mixed a community is, the neater it becomes, unless you fill the entire tank with a huge school of identical fish; then it becomes a work of art as they move.

the fact you mentioned the tank is a cube intrigues me; you mean it's completely square? you might put it in a place it can be viewed from all sides, and decorate in the middle for the fish :) definately a neat idea!

Yeah i can easily buffer the water, i do on my othe tanks.
Tank size is 21.5" x 20" x 16" so its not an exact cube. Cichlids are ok...Just want something totally different. Might got for the marbeled bichir at work, i've managed to get him to hand feed:) Anymore ideas?
