Sounds very light IMO for a 200 liter tank - they are all very small fish the tank will look pretty bare. The BN will look somewhat giant in there by comparison to the rest.

Dont underestimate how small the Badis are either. Mine got lost in a 35 liter tank!

I like your idea though - small micro fish on a big scale I would be tempted by a larger group of the Badis perhaps 7 or 8 maybe more if you want. Along with upping the Khullis to 15 and the two schools of Rasboras to 20 - then for me just to balance the tank well I would swap the Bristlenose for either a small species of Whiptail Catfish like the Red Lizard LDA010 or the Pitbull Plec just to stick with the mini theme.

A group of Sparkling Gourami might also look nice in here :)

Cool, how about 4 pit bull Pleco instead of the BN?

And increase to 20 of each rasbora

From what I've read if you have two males they fight

Edit list looks fine

And yes male Badis do fight but in a tank that size it is seriously not a problem. They will each have their own space and a group will dilute any aggression pointed at one specific individual.

I think I'll just keep to a male and female...

Anything else you'd recommend?

I know it sounds weird but I don't find bettas attractive at all

Okay so say I do get a group of badis how many males and females should I get?

Why? There are so many different colors too choose from. Much more attractive colors are available than a Dario has, but it's your choice
Oh yeah, and I think that you can get
2-3 males
4-5 females

It's just the shape of them...

Thanks :)

So this won't be over stocked?

No not at all - I can tell by your answers and plans that you are researching really well which is great but dont be afraid to push general rules as they do not always apply - in this case for instance if you were following the inch per gallon rule I would think your under selling your tank because these are all really small fish and do not produce that much waste.

Also just going back to the Badis thing, in the wild they are found right next to the shoreline in big colonies in tall grasses and reeds so while I wouldnt put 2 males in a small tank like 20-30 liters in a 200 liter tank I wouldnt worry at all just make sure they have enough females the water space your offering could potentially be the size of the total area they will live in their entire lives.

PS - I know what you mean about the Bettas, Ive seen a handful of them that I like but never felt the impulse to set up a tank for them...
