200L Stock Update

Sounds like a great stocking! Plus, you still have about 1/3 of a tank left to fill! :)

This sounds great, would love to see pictures soon!

What about bottom feeders? Cory's, Khuli Loaches??

Here's the stocking in my 55g currently, pretty similar set up, doing very well.
3 Pearl Gouramis, 1 male and 2 females, 2 pairs of Rams (1 of German Blue and 1 of Electric Blue), 8 bloodfin tetras and 6 green cories. The most aggression I've seen in the tank is when the cories get too close to the rams nesting site, the rams puff out and chase the cories away, and the occasional male ram crossing to the opposite side of the tank and getting in a 'stare off' with the other male ram. The gouramis mind their own business, and same with the tetras. If you have line-of-site breaks in the tank, you could keep more than one pair of rams, just depends on how you want your tank set up :D. Good luck!

Kissing Gouramis are about twice the size of pearl gouramis
Try 3-4 times the size of pearl gouramis.

I did say I persuaded my daughter not to have them! Can you imagine one of those in an 8 gallon tank!

What is the temperment of the pearl gouramis?  I've been thinking about one for my 60 gal but havent really found anything info on their personalities.. I know honeys are the most peaceful but I just love the way the pearls look.....

Mines seem fine, they just at the top of the tank most of the tank and sometimes bug my german blues but that's about it.

Pearls are very peaceful from what I hear

Blue/Opaline/Gold - can be peaceful but also have a tendency to be boisterous.

Hmm... that sounds promising. Ill have to do a bit more research first, but I like where this is going :)

Here is an extract from seriously fish

"One of the most peaceful gouramis and an excellent community fish. Males are territorial with one another however and can also be quite hard on the females when they want to breed, so ensure there are adequate hiding places in the aquarium. Do not keep the pearl gourami with aggressive or very vigorous fish or it will become withdrawn.
