20 Gallon

If you don't want to have to stock your tank around the ram, show your dad pics of bolivian rams, apistogrammas and laetacara species. One of these mixed with what I suggested earlier would be a good match.
As for the anubias, yes they are very easy to keep, but tend to be slow growing.

Up to 4" just depends on the species, but really add very little to the bioload of the aquarium.

ok i will add some, but will they also hide in plants?

so they will be fine with my GBR, or should they be seperate? and also are plants called cryps good? not crypTs, my LFS has them labled as cryps something( i can;t remember) and they are only 2.29 so i am interested

also. since this is a new tank i still have the filter going in my 10 gallon, so the bacteria don't die off. would it be ok to add this, and the tank would be instantly cycled, or do i need to wait a little bit?

I start filters that way all the time.
Kuhlis will be excellent with your rams.
I'm sure they just dropped the t, and are actually cryptocorynes. They are very easy to keep. When first transplanted they go through a phase called crypt melt, where the plant seems to rot away. This is normal and the plant will grow back, so don't be tempted to throw the roots away.

all, thanks. also do the plants feed on ammonia, or nitrites? the tank currently has the anubias, but the water is very cloudy. i know it will clear up once i put the filter in. but will that affect the plants in anyway?

Plants prefer ammonia, but will use all products of the nitrogen cycle.
Adding the filter will not affect the plants at all.

do the crypts need to be planted, or attached to something?
