20 Gallon (uk) filter?

I am completely fed up with my fluval 2 plus!!!It keeps me awake at night an makes all my plants grow at an angle even on the slowest setting!!!So my birthday is coming up and i am wondering wether to purchase another filter.My LFS said an exteranl fitler would be good for my tank(itsa Hagen Duo 800)but they didnt recommend any!So i was wondering what type of filter to get but it has to be whisper quite.(I personally like an exteranl filter but i think the bacteria will have to build up again)!

I am not familar with the brands that are for sale in England. I personally like biowheel filters. The Penguin brand is very good. They are quiet and have very good biological filtration.

well a rena Xp seris is good and i know this 'cos i've go one, they mey cost a bit more but they are easier to maintain and they look better. Ehiem is the best but you want to the the Pro series, they're very reliable and there is'nt any thing that will give you the performance exept the industrial ones.

Ehiem (being the best)
rena
fluval (being the Worst)
