20 Gallon CPD Tank

This tank has 8 Celestial Pearl Danios, 4 Kuhli Loaches, 1 Nerite Snail, and a handful of yellow dwarf shrimp. Any tips or advice for improvements?

I would get some driftwood to sort of fill in the tank. (Add some java moss on it)

I also hear Kuhlii loaches like to swim amongst roots. Try to find a piece of driftwood that has the looks of a tree pulled out of the ground.

As in your other one - a background makes a huge difference.

Id highly recommend a back ground and some floating plants. The fish will feel much more secure with these two additions. Maybe a nice piece of driftwood too

Lots more CPDs and a lot more plants. They really are best in groups of 20 or more. They are also quite nervous so having lots of hiding places makes them feel more secure, which means they will come out more.

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of some driftwood and a background. What kind of wood do you all like for driftwood? Is just plain black the best thing to do for a background? I tried to put frogbit in but it isn't doing well. I think the water may be moving too much with my airstone for the frogbit, but I put it in because I think I was having low oxygen problems before.

I would love to get more CPDs and more Kuhlis, but do you all think a 20 Gallon can accommodate more than eight CPDs and four Kuhlis? How many would be ideal of each?

You can choose what you wish. Fish stores sell ocean themed backgrounds, blue, black, frosted, etc.

You can use window frost (found at most hardware stores) or black trash bags. (I use the later)

Frogbit can be trick sometimes. Water sprite tends to work for most fishkeepers better

Darker backgrounds make your plants and fishes colours pop more, i find black to be best for this.

Malaysian and mopani seem to be popular but its just down to what you like really. Some wood like Azalea (aka spiderwood) can be toxic tho so id look the wood up first before you purchase. (Ive never had this problem with spiderwood tbh)

2 more Khuli's will be fine and with the CPD's being nano fish you could easily up your group to 20
