20 Gal Stocking Question

Flip, you can find blue rams in just about every fish store, and if not always ask if you can special order. Personally I want to know what the 'glo fish' you stated actually are.

Also, if you want look into apistos, they are quite pretty. Although some of them actually need two females per male, I just can't think which ones at the moment.

they are zebra danios, but they are the bright red orange and green ones that are called 'glofish' if you do a search for that name you can see what i mean everytime i try to get more of them all i find are sick ones now:(

Oh, ok, I know what you're talking about. Yeah, my friend bought six for a one gallon, found out that was bad, and I tried using them for dither for my old con. I think he ate about 36 dollars worth in under a week. Oops.

the dwarf gouramis are nice! i have seen those at the lfs. ill have to see if they carry the apistos too and then figure out which i want more when im there!

they are an expensive fish! i had more but they died and now when i try to get more they dont ever look helthy. but the two i have seem happy for now so im going to wait to add more till i can find a healthy few!

2 bolivian rams, although i think with you current fish count you can accommodate even 4.

why do you need so many platties? why do you need any platties? i realy dislike that fish, i don't see what people see in them. they are weird shaped yet plain looking, and quite aggressive.

Agressive? Please elaberate. Because I am looking into them.

much like most live-bearers they are a horny fish. and horny usually means aggressive, just like in the human world.

Logic is a wonderful thing, but I see little here :/ Livebearers aren't aggressive when compared to cichlids or even gouramis; they are pretty much mindless food grinders that pump out baby fish...

Other good dwarf cichlids are:
curviceps
keyholes
nannacara

Honey gouramis would also fit nicely

Glo fish are gmo (genetically modified organism) they use a jelly fish plasmid to cause them to produce fluorescent proteins, (they start with a danio) They used to use them at the genetics lab i work at :/

if what your saying is true then every teenager and jock out there is about as aggresive as an elephant, which is not true, its 50/50 lol

back to topic, aggree with everyone so far, you could also add dwarf gouramis or pearl gouramis as well

dont forget the bottom of the tank too

if i get a pair of dwarf gouramis wouldnt i be overstocking if i added something to the bottom? if not would albino cories be suitable? i dont want to overstock my tank!
