i have a L190 royal panaque and was thinking about adding an L330 water melon pleco. they are very similar except their markings, one has stripes and the other spots. the tank is 6.5x2x2 and is full of wood but i have read they can get teritorial with other bottom feeders especially same species. has anyone any experience with mixing these species at all? the L190 is currently 5-6 inches and the L330 i have found is 7-8 inches.

kind of need a reply tonight as i might be going tomorrow to look at the L330 and as its not just down the road i may well bring it home

I reckon if you have a massive tank and plenty of wood and plants, you could get away with it.
Never done it myself though

I assume the dimensions of the tank are feet?

If so then yes, go for it.

On the off chance there is a problem (which I think is highly unlikely) then rearrange the wood and they should establish their own territory.

I kept a L191 and L27c in a much smaller tank than that with no issues.

Pictures please if you do get it, Panaque is my favourite genus with L330 being of my favourite species

Yeah what suits one care wise will suit the other.

Nice 190, along with the usual massive pile of #105### that comes with keeping Lori's!

Full tank shot?
