I have a 2 gallon AquaOne Cube and was wondering if it is possible to stock it with anything. It does fit a heater in it and I'm not sure about a filter, but I was wondering if it would be possible to keep anything in it. If I can fit something into it what would you recommend? And how many of them would you put in?

Thanks in advance,
Ally

shrimp would look cool

if it has a light (if not i have one you can have for 12 pounds including postage) i would have a few small pieces of plants a small piece of slate and it would look like a natural river bed
nd some cherry shrimp and id say about 6-8
or crystal red bee shrimp

bettas idealy want 3 gallons atleast

I think that would look really good.

I like the look of Cherry Shrimp. Could I really put 6 to 8 in there? It seems a bit to many, but then I have never kept them so I wouldn't know.
While searching the internet I found a type called Ghost Shrimp. I don't mind these. Would they be suitable?

i would go cherry mate :)

i think ghost are a tad bland, but its preference at the end of the day :D

edit the title into the question and heres your bump as im not sure

How come no one has suggested a betta? Shrimp would be cool...wouldn't recommend any tetras or more than 1 or 2 guppies or danio's.

Because it's a hideously small amount of water, which is harder to keep stable in terms of water chemistry as 2 gallons will very quickly become polluted with fish waste. Not to mention the fact you can get a much bigger tank so cheaply second hand that there's no need to subject a betta to such a tiny pot.

Shrimp on the other hand are fine for a 2 gallon. They produce very little waste, and you can easily make a small sponge filter out of an empty fish food pot using the method shown in the DIY section LINK FOR THIS FILTER MAKING METHOD . This will easily fit in a 2 gallon and should be able to cope with the low waste production of shrimp quite well.

A 2 gallon can be planted really nicely with a mat of Java moss, or if you can get a piece small enough, you could grow some moss on a bit of bogwood. A dark substrate would really show off the shrimp, especially Cherry shrimp or Crystal reds.

As for how many Ghosts, I'd say about 5 or so. For cherries or bee shrimp, about 6-8.

you definately need a filter for the shrimp are the filter would have to be cycled or do daily water changes if there is any ammonia etc present
shrimps are quite sensitive so no nitrites or ammonia should be present
also dont introduce copper to the tank as this to will kill shrimp
