well i have my betta in a 2.5 gallon unfiltered and unheated, he gets a 100% water change every other day, and the lamp next to his tank keeps him warm

i just bought a small heater for the tank, the temp is slowly rising. So i think i'm going to get a beta fish. Any suggestions on which kind? i know there are a few varieties out there.

Go for some adult ramshorns and some plants.

Veiltail is the most common type of betta, nearly all pet shop sell these, others are Crownttail, Halfmoon, Deltatail(i think), Plakat. These are the more rare ones but Crowntail can also be found in most pet shops.

Petsmart seems to have more crowntails now that veiltails.

In the pet shops around where i live (UK) i have never seen anything else but veiltails. Its just the shops choice then.

It used to be that way here but for some reason they have started stocking them. Petsmart is really the only one that I've seen have them though.
