Iv decided to get a 8 gallon tank, i was wondering which stocking would be best:

1st:

- 1 male crowntail betta
- 3 Schwartz corys

or :)

2nd:

- 1 Cherry barb
- 5 Neons
- 2 Scwartz corys

i know about the inch per gallon rule but i think it sucks so.....which one is best and wud i be overstocking?
:good: thanks! 8)

yh, but we have 2 bronzes down stairs and there as happy as larry, honest and there very active!

im wondering which stocking to go for tho.... :thanks: and wether the second stocking wud be to much...
im getting a EHEIM AQUABALL 2206 when i get the tank :hey:

isnt it SCHWARZ cory ? as in black ( german ) considering alot of the naturalists who discovered the fish were of german origin,
anywho if it was me i would go for the second stocking :)

yh heres a pic: Corydoras schwartzi -

are u sure i wouldnt be overstocking with the 2nd stocking??? thats the last thing i want to do!

The cherry barb should not really be alone should it?

Substitute the cherry in the second option for an extra cory in my opinion...

cherrys either like to be in groups of 6+, or alone as males will fight for territory even tho people say there peaceful (they are dpeends on surcumstances)....so wud it be overstocking?

I like the second stocking more, but I'd sub the cherry barb with a small fish that would be happy alone... I think the barb is better suited to groups of 3 or 4 at least

Dont get one cherry barb, they dont like being on their own.

I'd go for about 3 minimum from my research.

my cherry barb is fine alone, he just chills with the neons, but the choice is yours its your tank not ours.

u copy cat! lol dont ask me y i said that! were both buying small tanks, and stocking up on same fish!
