Ok so i have a 120 lt fish pod from interpret fish pod. Its got a bow font and i adore it. Way bigger than i thought of getting but hey ill have it for ages... :look:
So its moved into place and has white sand in it at the moment i will try to get photos up soon.
So the plan as it stands, try to get my hands on some nice bits of bog wood. Plants and the fish. I wont put up stocking yet but ive done alot of research and i know that some are a little risky for nipping and stuff but im hoping that with lots of plants, caves and hiding places and big shoals it should be fine. Just wanted to start about it as i am so excited. ive had it for a month but spent all my money on the tank and had to wait to get anything for it.
It beings tomorrow :hyper: lots of ideas and will keep anyone who is interested posted as i am sure i will need soo soo much help from you wonderful people.
Ive trolled this forum so much my bf has nearly lots it but i now feel ready to try a big community tank well planted and scaped well.
:good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good:

Argos play sand 3.14 a bag, :good: :good: cleaning it nearly made me want to cry, ive put extra in and will upload pictures later. Any help with what fertilizers to buy would also be soo helpful if you can. I read your thread and posted, didn't understand half of it but the people helping you seem to know their stuff. The LFS around me over charge loads and i want to buy it off the internet but will need to have a clue what to buy :S

To be honest starting a big tank is so exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time but this forum is a god send!!!!

:good:

more sand added the guts of another bag and ornament bought, tomorrow some fast growing plants to help get me started. Went to BnQ today to look at plumming fixtures for caves and stuff. Too much to choose from.... :hyper:[

Yayyyyy........ bog oak is on the way. It get my pick of cuts offs from an artist who works with the stuff.. yipeeeeeeeee im so chuffed..... Also i am going with a bit of dirt in my tank, ive been reading alot and for me i think it is the best option for the kind of planted tank i want (ie little maintenance of plants with not a big amount of dosing and stuff) So on sunday i get my bog oak. pics will be thrown up as soon as. And then re scape the tank with some dirt in some places. A week or two then and we shall see how the water is doing. I m a so so so chuffed. I already bought some plants so ill plant them as soon as i can to show you a general shape of what im after. My bf is also trying to make some stuff out of egg board but over the water here (ireland) it is way harder to get hold of so we shall see how that goes. :good:

i am loving learning about plants and super excited about working with them.. :hyper:

Hi so i have boiled my wood and am ready to scape the tank. My plants arrived in the mail and i got lots of nice java fern.. i have a big white pipe that im going to use as a cave thing and i want to attach java fern to it. now i have netting but im wondering what is the easiest way to atttach it to the pipe so it sticks to it, ive heard of fish wire and wool and also super wool. anyone have any ideas? Its a smooth white pipe and i want to cover alot of it. ideas? all suggestions very much appreciated as ive never tried anything like this before.

Getting it all up and running on sunday lots of pics.. :)

nice i shall be looking forward to seeing this :) and regards to sticking stuff to it yes fishing line is a gd solution and i have seen some one use ty wraps before if you get white or green ones and hide them using the java turn might be gd :D

i still worry that the tank is a bit too big... but i know once i get going ill be happy with the size. so more planting to do and fish to buy, i might put my selection list up but that causes a lot of debate so i may just skip that part and hit ye up with photos as i make changes. SOOO how did i do my first attempt???  well???

i like it :) looks nice i don't know what stocking your doing corry's may look nice i don't know if they will fit in that size tank tho :p someone can help on that
