So here are some pictures (in no real order) of my set-up almost 18months on after having first set up my tank... Feel free to leave some comments and ask questions... btw my hammer coral got a it shy and decided to avoid this photo session lol

wow, really nice corals dude! :good: Did the corals grow much since you've got them?18 months you said? Because your tank looks filled quite nicely

Looks way better now Bud.
Interesting Hammer skelatal formation.
Nice choice of fish and coral placement.

 Wow, way better man, glad to see things turned out well for you. Tank looks awesome!

And yeah, I love those wall-type E. anchora species too. Harder to come by than their branching E. paranchora cousins

I am toying with the idea of converting my 46 gallon brackish to salt - can you tell me a little bit about how you decided upon the reef design and didn't just end up with a clump of rock?

wel actually if i am totally honest with you, it did start off as just a clump of rocks... lol i started off with approx 10kgs and then kept adding little bit more at a time when i had the cash and/or saw any nice pieces in the shop that i liked. it also took alot of taking apart and changing stuff around beofre i finally came to the current set-up that i liked and stuck with. also the corals helped fill up alot of space etc cozinitially i left alrge gaps between them to keep them seperated but as they hav grown, they have filledthe gaps... some need fragging now though.

however even now, i am not totally satisfied with the set up and believe i have several corals etc that i want to take out and move around into a new set-ut that i am currently in the process of building up. i am a very picky person at the best of times so believe it will be another few month before i am pleased with final results.

but as far as you setting up your 46g tank, i would say go 4 it but think too much about it, just have a list of what stock you want in there and then slowly add them. there is no definate way to achieve results as everyone is different and sees things indivually hence why every person's reef ifunique. just keep moving stuff about and overtime you will find a look that you are happye with... hope that helps :good:

Seemz though the hammer didnt open the other day for the photos, i thought I would add some of it today as it was open. enjoy...
