180 Litre (Pic Heavy)

Try the hydor 900 power head. Cheap and efficient. I got one for 27 quid delivered online. Rorie is selling one in classifieds. Ask him what he will let it go for.

Look forward to updates

It's still a bit much. I literally have no money. Time to get a job me thinks.

Cheers Staxx. They're great fish. A little cowardly though, I'm scared to walk across the room in case I frighten them.

:hyper: I love it! Are the angels fanning the eggs? I have my 6 that I hope to breed when they get old enough. Specific bloodlines and all that. I am in research mode! lol

The pogostemon erectus is nice. Whats the floating plant?

I think it's salvinia natans. I could be wrong though. It's spread so fast. Amazing.

The angels are doing pretty well for first time parents. They're hanging in the opposite end of the tank but they pop over every 15 minutes or so to fan the eggs and check up on them. I never really planned on breeding, it's all been quite a hurried thing over the last three weeks so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. If they reach the wrigglers stage I'll be proud.

Great looking tank! :good:

I really like the floating plants you have!

Congrats on the eggs! It seems like a lot of people are becoming grandparents...I wish I could get my CPD's or Rainbows to spawn. I would really like some babies. Fish that is...

Cheers. The floating plants are great but they grow like crazy. They now cover the entire surface and I have to clear a space to feed the fish. I've noticed there's a lot of babies about. Must be something in the water.

Unfortunately the cories did get all the eggs overnight. I'm not too bothered as I'm going away on holiday in two weeks so I wouldn't have been able to take care of the fry. Hopefully I'll raise their next/one of their future spawns.

lol @ Steve H. wanting "only" fish babies. Really ones are harder right?

Good deal the Llegmore. Hope you get a spawn when you get back

Cheers. I hope so too. They've got such great colouring I'm intrigued to see what they'll produce.

Tank needs a good trim and clean. It looks like a jungle in there. I haven't dosed carbon or ferts for a week (to see if the plants'll cope when I'm away) and they're all looking greener than ever.

Today I'm feeling kind of down about this tank. The growth has gone crazy - my original spacing was ridiculous. I tried to do some trimming but ended up making everything worse. :-(

I feel your pain. You know I felt the same way after pruning mine. It's kind of like getting a bad haircut. At first you hate it, but then it grows out.

You'll get it dialed in! Deep breath...clear head...patience

@FF - with my luck I would have another boy, and that would surely send me to any early grave. I'm getting payback 10 fold for all of my childhood mischief! ;)

More trimming today. I'd love some expert advice on bacopa... the leaves on the bottom half of each stalk seem to be browning and dying leaving me with palm tree plants. Is this normal? What do I do?

Chop the healthy part and replant. I get this sometimes when I get new bacopa. Sometimes just because it's new and sometimes because it's getting shaded. I always keep at it and eventually it gets strong.
