Hi all,
I live in the 4th floor of an apartment building. Would there be a problem in setting up a 180 gallon tank with regards to it's weight?

Thanks

Depends how strong the floors are!! 1 litre of water is equal to 1 kilo weight so depending on if its US or UK gallons you have between 600 - 800 kilos of water plus the tank & stand weight!!
I wouldnt risk it myself.

This is US gallons. The floors..well, I don't really know how to tell that, but I guess it's best not to risk it. Then I guess I'll go with a 120gal US.

Is your appartment building Concrete Construction? if so it should have absolutely no problem supporting the larger tank, but with a wooden frame building i would go with the smaller tank as most multi residence buildings will have a 16 inch spread between floor joists rather than the 12 inch you see in most single family dwellings... at least in canada anyway.
