180 Gallon Oddball

I am after something like a 9x3x3 mate. Finally concinced the missuss that when we sell this house an buy the next one, which should be next year, that I am getting it built in to one end of the rooms. Got plans to get a brick type stand built along the wall and then the tank built into it. Cant wait, just need to find a house to fit it now.

Amazing isn't it, buying as house based on if a tank is going to fit in it is a bit crazy I know,

mate I;m doing something similar, next house has got to have to have cellar or room just for me the snakes and fish!!! oh and my ps3 and big flat screen tele!! just need mine to sell now

yeah it is a bit mad when you think about it, sod the bedrooms and whether the better half likes it, as long as you can fit a massive tank in consider it bought!! ha
i like the idea of a cellar but you'd still be restricted i think, i want a moderately sized house with a decent sized bit of land to build a fish house, well this is what i hope to do anyway!

Sounds similar Simon, we are putting this place up soon to sell. Not only do I need a massive living/dining room, I also want a brick outhouse in the back for a fish room, think it may take a while to find this place, ha

Hi Vinny

How are the elephant noses coming on? was at the LFS today and noticed they had some

Been considering a tank for these or/and clown loaches lately and wondered how yours fare against the lively fish in the tank foodwise. do they compete well :good:

They compete fine m8. I had a group of 5 but sadly one passed away this week. Been trapped in Barcelona for 10 days, was meant to be 1 day. I had to get my mum to break in and feed the cats an fish as I made no real provisions for 24hrs.

I would say definately go for the Elephants m8. They are the most active fish i have owned in this tank, love playing together and really active. They definatelty aren't out-competed and there are currently 8 Tinfoils in here. One of, if not the most interesting group fish I have owned.

I still have the 11 Congos too if you are still interested in puttin them in.

hi mate cheers for offer of congos but I backed out of selling the red bellies.

Going to persever with them for a bit I think! can't make my mind up

No problem, I will have them a while yet, so let me know when you change your mind (yet again)

I think these Elephants are the best fish I've bought you know. I might try and add some smaller nose ones to the group now, try and get about 8 going. They just remind me of small dolphins.

tempted me more now by saying that!!

my LFS has about 10 in stock that they have had for a while!!

Think Pier still has a load too, reasonable size too. I got mine there for around £5 each. Keep an eye out for the short nosed ones m8, if any get them in by you give me a shout an I will drive over. Never seem to find any over here, got 2 not long ago but they were small an not in good condition, both died quite quickly without eating.

Just done something I know I will regret. I am planning on my next upgrade to a pond or 9x3x3 within a year, so I might be okay. I seen a shop I dont use too much had a couple of hybrid, Red Tailed Cats/Tiger Shovelnose. Couldn't resist. Bought one for £8, only about 3" but the patterns and colours look good. Although I dont believe in sellin fish like this I figure if I bought one it would have a decent home rather than gettin one too small, although if mine is 9x3x3 it will still probably be too small lol.

I will try an get some pics later, but excited about this fish.
