And the cheap one that came with the tank

 
Used the cheap one and chucked a towel over

No problem. They shouldn't be used single. They should be paired with a 6500k and above bulb making the output clearer and more crisp.

Little update after buying more ferns, ignore the stocking im setting up a Betta tank after i was given this guy. Still need to hide my filter
