A while back, I had great concern about putting male guppys together in the same tank. My LFS assured me there would be no problem, in fact he guaranteed it. He was right. For over a month now I have had 15 of them in a 40 gallon tank with two Corys, and they have been a joy to watch. No fighting, tails all intact, and feed from my hand. It probably doesn't make much sense, but I wonder if being all of the same color makes them more compatible?

Well thats very interesting, I had originally misguidely said that they would fight I think. Perhaps... they only fight if females are present in the tank, that would make sense because in shops they always keep them seperate and thats not to stop the females getting pregnant cause they all already are!! :) Interesting discovery glad your tank is working out well

Hows that? Arent mollies the same way?

Because in the breeders tanks they grow up together he seperates them when selling them to shops but guppies can keep sperm for up to 3 pregnancies! So they'll all be pregnant :)

Males will always get along fine with other males, regardless of colours. If there are females present, they may ( but not always ) chase each other occassionally, but this is rare and even when it does happen, it won't ever get too aggressive. B)
