14 Gallon Tank

So tonight I was browsing around at the Pet section in Walmart. What did I come across... A clearenced 14 gallon tank! 14 gallon starter kit with everything for only 25 bucks. Now that was a sweet deal! Some weird brand though.. Aquaculture? Comes with incandescent bulbs and a crappy hood. plan to change that later.

I currently have White Cloud Minnows in my 20 gallon tall tank. But I'm not really sure whether I should transfer them over to this one, or not. Because there's 17 of them, but the 20 gallon tall just takes up so much room for me and is also kind of a hassle to maintain.

what should I do?

And what I'd really like to know is what kind of lighting should I get for this? Because I know a hood that fits a 10 gallon will also fit this one. Is it possible that I could fit this on a 10 gallon tank stand? or is that too much.

If the footprint is the same size as a 10 gallon, a stand for a 10 should work fine. If you want some intense lighting for plants, why not screw in some of the spiral fluorescent bulbs into your new light fixture?

Yeah, that's what I did for the time being. I bought 2 of those cheap spiral lights at Walmart. Man, those are so bright. Almost too bright! I hadnt really planned on using live plants however.
