So I found some decent quality plants today and quickly threw them all in. Definately not happy with it. Need sone help with the placement of everything; it just looks very unnatural atm.

So I ended up moving everything around and this is what I came up with. I think its better than before, but any suggestions/criticism is welcome.

nice tank! love the contract between the dark substrate and wood then flashes of colour with the plants.

how big does the leopard fish get?

Thanks! I think all I need to be happy with how it looks now is a bit of a carpet.
Does anyone have any low light carpet plants in mind?

The leopard bush fish get around 6" in the wild, but in aquaria 5" is already considered large.

Cheers

What lighting do you have over it as it looks very dark? Helferi is a good low light carpet plant.

The light is a 20w aquaglow bulb. I think its quite dark as well, although i'm not quite sure if theres a higher wattage 24" bulb available...

Just wondered, its very low light but your plants are low light so should be fine.

Helferi's a bit hard to come by in my area. I could try to get a LFS to special order it in, but they told me straight up they'd charge me a ridiculous price.
Do you think dwarf hairgrass would grow decently under the super low light environment that I have?

Would do but would take a year or so to carpet.

Gosh darnit :X :/
Might end up investing in a better light fixture for the tank. As I said from the first post I got this tank from a friend. The thing looks like it might be a decade old! -_-
