looking for a few ideas as i will be getting a 120litre tank very soon

got tetras and a bn pleco im my 60litre

so thinking something a little bigger for this one??

Your Bristlenose should be moved to your new tank as 60 litres is a bit small for him/her.

Keyhole Cichlids?
i would rather a few different fish cichlids have to stick with there own from memory?

glass cat fish or few sharks plus some smaller fish maybe ? havnt had to think about stocking for a while
also i have a betta in a 5gal tank which maybe moved to this larger tank at some point if i need his for hospital tank

it will be as im looking at a golden nugget thats slightly smaller for the 60

60L is too small for a golden nugget pleco too imo, i think they can reach upto 20cm?

15cm depends on the type as theres a few differnt ones from memory

+1 , as already advised in your other post you need to forget the gn . sharks would be out too . if youre talking about red tailed black shark these need to be kept singly and want 55g upwards , and silver sharks grow very big and need to be kept in groups in tanks considerably bigger still

just read sharks are single and look too big :/ just looking for ideas at the min as said in the other thread i dont have the tank yet!

The BN and the GN would both need a 120 as a minimum IMO - have a look on planetcatfish though as there are 3 or more species of GN and the size is range is pretty huge! So watch out for that.

In a 120 liter tank the two might get on but with 2 plecs your going to need pretty heavy filtration so I would upgrade any filter that you get with the tank to aim for 9 or 10 times turn over.

I had a 30 gallon tank with 2 plecs of similar size to these (if your GN is one of the smaller species) in for a while and it worked okay but I had to keep well ontop of water changes.

As for tank mates a breeding pair of medium sized cichlids like some kind of Acara like Blue Acaras or Yellow Acaras or some kind of Convict relative (though not Convicts) like Honduran Red Points, Sajica or Cutteri etc would be nice and a school of dithers - to keep it an American tank zippy tetras like Bleeding Hearts would work well.

Or you could go down the Dwarf Cichlid route with stuff like Apistos or Laetacara etc. A group of Cupid cichlids could be stunning in there! Though these are perhaps on the larger side of cichlids for the tank. With these you could look at groups of Tetras, Hatchet fish, maybe Spotted Headstanders (though not with the cupids too many larger fish)

Hope theres a few ideas

African cichlids need to be kept with just African cichlids and a few choice catfish where as some American cichlids can work in community set ups.
