£22?! Goodness me. Right ive just filled a morrisons plastic carrier bag up to the holes (about 4inches) was just about half a kilo, and i reckon that water would fill or nearly fill two bags, so id say we'd just be under the 2kg mark.

i'll go to my lfs tomorrow and get some proper fish bags and do it that way we'l know if its feasible or not to send them!

Ok sounds like a plan thankyou for understanding! I hate it when you ask people for more details and they give you the answers and it's no good for you and then they start name calling and being bitchy. Makes me (had that with a tank that I didn't buy recently!)

There's no point getting stupid about it, id really much rather spend five minutes making sure i dont disappoint you! and im glad theyll be going to a big harlequin filled tank

just had a look at them, all good and bright etc, apart from one who looks a bit skinny still decently coloured etc, ill see what he looks like during feeding and let you know.

Hi cazzie, just fed them a mix of freeze dried brine shrimp and micro pellets, he doesnt seem too keen on eating, only eating the smallest bits that floated down to him.

its up to you whether you still want him/them. he looks a bit thin if im honest so im not sure if hed survive the journey, he probably would, but as i said, its up to you on what happens next,

Could you put 6 per bag? So that's 2 bags by special delivery? I don't mind about the thinner one, I'll QT them for a month or so before they go in the main tank and keep an eye on him. Eventually they'll be going in my biotope, and bearing in mind there will be a shoal of 26, I'm thinking it might have to become a species tank!

he should be fine once in a bigger shaol, i think hes just getting bullied a bit, although i cant think why this has only come about now!

the only thing is getting bag buddies, gonna have to get em off ebay if i cant find them in my lfs so its going to be next week before i can get them sent out, they were fed last night aswell and i was going to fast them for a day or two to chill out on the ammonia in the bags, if you want i can forgo the buddies and send them tomorrow or thursday? of course its totally up to you

I'm happy to wait, it'd be better to fast them for a couple of days as you say, so next week's fine by me. Gives me chance to make sure everything's set at this end anyway. How about posting Monday to arrive Tuesday?

lol, it started one year when I couldn't find a good "husband" anniversary card, but found the perfect one with "to my wife" written on it. So I bought it, and wrote "man" above it in black pen. It's just kind of stuck!

LOL, I hope you are actually married, else he might find that a bit weird haha (a friend of mine got a "to my wife" card on her birthday one year, from the guy who she'd broken up with a month before, and who she'd never been married to... )

You would need just over half a pint of water to post 12 fish (harlequins), the rest of the bag needs to be air. so a 1/5 water 4/5 air mix would be best. Try going for the last post of the day and they should be fine. Also remember the shape of the bag is important because the parcel will be at every angle you can think of in the post, so aslong as the fish are under the water whatever way you position the bag, they will be fine.
