Here she is my new project, MTS claims another victim.
The tank is old window panes which I've built myself, for lighting I plan to use an arc pod or similar filtration will be an eden 501.
Planting wise I hope to try and grow Hm and Hc emergent then fill it up and add some mini vallis and christmass moss.
What do people think?
How's the hardscape? how can I Improve it?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
I love your homemade tank  I'd love something like that......was it hard to make?

No not really, It just took time to measure everything out to ensure it was square.
Ideally i'd liked to have used thicker glass but my tile saw wouldn't cut anything thicker.

I think it's beautiful, and I like what you've done inside so far too :)
wish I had the tools to make tanks!

You can probably buy one a very similar size for very little, diying this tank has meant some edges are quiet sharp and the ends aren't totally smooth but for the money, (£3.20) It was worth it.

AWWW what?!?!
I really need to get a place to work and tools....lol
Not sure where I'd find a cheap cube...lol...I like the ones about at the moment but they are a bit pricey.
Have you seen the Apple Mac cube that someone used for a betta tank, found it on google!

Funny you should mention the macquarium that's why I started my first planted tank, finding that then nanofish, then picos, then the plantedtank.net and it grew from there.

i would look but i'm addicted enough as it is.... lol planning to get a mini clearseal tank (about 10 litres) next week to swap for a pet carrier tank i have cycling....gonna have a minimal glass pebble bottom and light.....quaratine tank while i swap over some fish for new ones, then maybe have it as a betta tank :)

10l thats like, a gallon? I personally wouldn't go that small for a beta they need at least 5gal.
gravel is better than glass marbles, it provides a much larger area for biological filtration.

10l is 2.5gal i think. Perfect for a betta. :good:

I still disagree, Beta's are big fish.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

lol...well...7cm i think is their largest, might only be 6cm....they are weenier than some think.
My current betta lives happily in a 55litre community aquarium :)

do you keep any fish or just the plants??

oh and hope you don't mind garuf, i added you as a friend so i can watch how your cube comes along :)

I keep fish, have done for years, I've a 20gallon goldfish tank, my 10 gallon and this one.
I keep ember tetra and otos currently and 3 goldfish of a kind I'm unsure downstairs.
For this tank I'm thinking white cloud minnows or danio's of some kind.

And no I don't mind at all.

that's cool, i know some planted fans just do plants....which is cool too, not so fun to watch for hours perhaps but nice to observe and tend to i guess :)

white clouds are pretty....I've got a couple of danios...did have 6....unfortunately 2 had to go back to lfs when my betta came for harassing him...lol....and unfortunately i suffered after a new arrival a bad bacterial strain and had to euthanise another 2 :(
so the remaining 2 are going back to LFS soon because I've decided against danios as they seem to be poor when it comes to diseases....so I'm gonna get some dwarf neon rainbows, as they are a lot like the danios...size...activity...etc....as my betta gets on so well with the danios.
Have you seen golden danios? They had some in my LFS, was going to get these as replacement at first til i decided against the danio altogether.....they're entertaining fish!
