wow.... good eye. I did not even know my 2nd snail was in the betta photobomb.

And much needed background on. Finley is having a fit right now at his new reflection. Should calm down soon (so I hope)
 
Couple apple snails in the works for the time being. They were in pretty bad shape at the LFS.

It would appear that you buried the rhizome of the anubias. Not good. It will rot and the plant will die. They need to be out of the substrate in the water column. Tying them to some decor, like the driftwood would be a far better solution, or even a smaller rock.

Well then. good catch there saving me Eagles. I have never kept anubias nana. the rounded gravel is pretty loose and there is not dense substrate underneath.... I had a hard time even getting them to stay. Rhizome still needs to be out and in the water?

Just a quick update. Full tank pic as the java moss takes hold a bit and things start to grow out slowly.
 

 
Vals are melting a bit from shipping and adjusting, but can see new growth. going to start pulling off the dieing leaves to make room for the new ones. Root tabs have been in a couple of days now.
