100Litre F8 Puffer Tank (Brackish Water)

No, lol, but why not add the rest to the money and get the 1400 external from them? Tell them you have been inconvenienced by it and see if you can get a little knocked off.

I allready contacted them about this filter but the customer service was not the best

The problem I have is the cabinet that this tank is sat on has a solid back and shelves built and I have been told by the misses I can not under any circumstances cut into it! (I was lucky to bring this tank into the house so I dont want to push my luck) so any external filter will be visible so thats why I was looking at smaller ones, also because the tank is small I think too strong a filter will have the stems bent over all the time, lol

I will keep my eye out for a second hand EX600/700 and in the meantime just keep the water changes up to make sure the Betta is happy :good: If I do get a second EX700 I can use the Hydor 200W heater I have on my existing EX700 and remove the heater from this tank. (to make it look a bit cleaner)

Today I added some Helferi, Pogostemon Erectus, Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis and a little piece of Fissidens Fontanus to the tank, I am trying to put as many plants/stems/mosses in this tank as I can, so in the end it will look a right mess, lol

Also got 4 litres of Flourish Excel which should last me a long long time :)

Lol!! No money but you bought 4 litres of excel  You sounds like me!! :D

Go for a nice internal then. TetraTEC do some smart ones, as do Aqua One. If you only have a Betta it won't have to be massive, even something that turns over 300-400 litres an hour will be plent to support it especially with all the live plants helping to remove excess nutrients.

The Excel was my Christmas present from the misses (I needed it) TetraTec do seem to do nice filters and I notice you recommend them quite often :D

If I dont put any more fish in do you think I can get away without a filter? as long as I keep my weekly water changes up.

it should turn red, considering the lighting and fact that you are adding supplements to the tank :good:

Fingers crossed it will :)

Do i? :D

No idea about having no filter... :/ I wouldn't feel happy without something at least.

How about this?

That filter would do the job and a member is selling the same filter used for £12, Its just I dont like the look of internal filters or internal heaters for that matter. Im a fussy git lol

Yeah i know, but you can't hide an external filter either because you are under the thumb.

At least with an internal you can hide it a little with plants.

I believe Jake has one for sale. Maybe the 800?

Under the thumb!! Haha less of the cheek or I will go and buy a Fluval Filter ;0)

Just ordered a APS 1000 External filter for this tank :)

I had a £50 voucher for Amazon so used that, im sure the 1000 will be enough for this tank.

Lol, I had to remove some media and knock the spraybar down to 1 piece to get a half decent flow.

Guess I will be doing the same then :0)
