Welcome to TFF!

I am not to sure what kind of fish will be good for your tank.

But before you get any fish, you must cycle your tank. Do you know what cycling a tank is? If not...here is the link.

http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=113861

A good rule of thumb is about 1-2 inch of fish per US gallon, and a 100 liter tank is about 26 gallons, so I would say no more than about 50 inches of fish total(adult size) in your tank.

I know a lot of fish, but I am not sure which ones are compatible with each other, I could guess...lol, so instead of giving you false info, someone else will come on here and give you some good fish ideas.

Welcome again to TFF!

Thankyou! I don't know about cycling the tank but my brother said he has all of the stuff i will need. Also said to get some angel fish. I would like to have larger numbers of smaller fish rather than a few large fish so i can watch them shoaling.

I don't know the hight of the tank yet so angles might be a no no :(

but there are plenty of "centre piece" fish to choose from

Agreed.

Also, angel fish when fully grown will try to eat anything they can fit into their mouths...lol.

So having angel fish with small fish might be a no no.

And, like stated above, require a large tank.

Small fish it is  .
What are neon tetra? Would this be a nice small shoaling fish?

For sure.

Neon Tetras love to be in schools, and they got neat colors that shine pretty bright(hence the name neon).

dwarf chiclids???

do people think thats a good idea?

andrew
neither neon tetras or dwarf cichlids will survive in a new tank
Right...

After it is cycled you will be able to add the fish you desire.

even a freshly cycled tank wont be suitable as they arent that stable in the first few months, wait 6 months before adding neons or dwarf cichlids.

and if you can get a captive bred dwarf cichlid that a human hasnt touched (not had any genetical modifications or antibiotics stuffed in it!)

Whats the reasons for neons and chiclids not surviving in a new tank?

And jonny I have a book im going to bring up to manchester on wednesday which is really good and simple for the cycling, aeration, heating, filtration.....

Neons are lvely lil fish i've got 20 or so in my tank great to watch shoaling together . You could also go with cardinal tetra's aswell This is a great site for looking up some fish >>HERE<< Have a wee look see what ya like post names back here and someone will tell you if they are compatible and if they can go in your tank

Also have a look at cory's some peppered cory's or Albino would do goodandyou could easily keep a group of 4 in that tank very playfull little fish shoal nicely !

Oh and Welcome to TFF !!
