Thanks for at least responding to this Baccus, but my ultimate objective with this thread was to "Lure" our members to move over and join (or at least participate) in our Facebook site..... (it is currently as active as a graveyard there)Hence my request below of "But do not answer the questions here".....

OK.... this is an interesting perspective.....I, Personally have been using Facebook for around 4 years now and have never had any "problems"...... It has put me in contact with friends and family spread accross the world ..... some of whom I have not seen or heard from in 30 to 40 years........

I have some unapproved "friends requests" which I have not approved, (so they cannot see anything on my site), because I may know some of them and disapprove of them, and others that I do not know (or recall).... so I simply do not accept them as "Friends"..... So, How could FB a problem...... In fact, I will start a new topic (maybe with a poll).... Mainly. because I'm curious to see what problems the majority of people have with joining FB..... (and I'll open the new topic with this post).......

I do not join Facebook because I see absolutely no reason to do so. There is nothing there that interests me. I am a member here because this is a fish site. Facebook, on the other hand, seems to me to be nothing more than a great place for prepubescent kids to play and I have not been one of them for a half century now.

Sorry Ludwig, have to agree with TwoTankAmin while facebook might be a great meeting place for adults it's really dangerous for unsuspecting kids and teenagers. Of late in Australia there has been no end of stories emerging of kids using facebook to belittle and bully fellow kids from thier schools. Plus parties getting crashed and thrashed by uninvited party goers that found out about it via facebook. I think I signed up once for face book and have even had friends tell me to join but I really don't see the point. If I want to tell people what's happening in my life I'll call them, email, snail mail or skype them and all of that plus this forum keep me busy enough along with all my pets both fishy, feathered and furred, oh and gardeneing and work jammed in there as well.

The whole internet is dangerous for the unsuspecting, and i dont care if your and adult, pubescent, or kid.

Bullying goes on at forums, in emails, phonecalls, texts, in real life etc, how about we drop them too *LOL* Parties being crashed hasnt just started because FB is around, that sort of behaviour was around even before the internet. Blaming FB for societies problems is a copout as far as i'm concerned.

I have control of my FB account, a post i dont like i remove it. A 'friend' becomes a problem, i remove them. Not hard. I cant see where bullying should ever be a problem on FB, dont like it, remove it off your wall/account. Parent should be teaching their kids how to set it up properly. Afterall you wouldnt hand your kid a gun and not teach them how to use it.

Great Quiz - would love to participate... well okay read the answers after they are posted. Currently batted 0/10

However I am also a non facebook user. Couple of reasons - to access facebook you need to join - not something I want to do. I do worry about putting personal informatin on the web, but also I do not have the time to manage another "account" - by the time I do emails, Skype, anwering machine (okay that is not computer related) I am done and don't want to commit to maintaining another site. It would also take time away from surfing this forum!
