Tank is finally getting that "mature" look which I'm really pleased about. Riccia on slate looks a bit rubbish still. Know anything else that looks similar but grows better in low light levels?

Quite nice, I agree the riccia doesn't look to good, it's not very good in low light, that's why I don't use it. Also, I like your ?onion plants?, but I don't like the bottom of them. You should change your substrate to sand too, it would look much better IMHO.

The tops of the thai onion plants have to be above the gravel and I was hoping to disguise them with my wonderful grassy riccia covered piece of slate :huh: . Will have to come up with another plan me thinks. Sand is a possibility but dont know if i can be bothered with all the hassle.
 
Plants will do better in the gravel.

I really like your tank. i have the same one but only as a fry tank. You ising any co2? How much are thos onions and are they easy to keep?
 
are your pygmys hasborus?? mine are HASBORUS and are tiny, i mean under an inch!..will mine gro as big as yours...didi you buy yours that size or have they grown?? :S i want mine to be big to!! :lol: :lol:

Why not try java moss? its renowned for being good in low light levels and unlike riccia you dont have to redo it when it gets too big.
 
Its really messy, but cool stuff! You could try some Java Fern, they will do well in there.
