Is a 10 gallon tank too small to have a female betta tank? I know I can either have one or multiple, but not sure if 10 gallons is enough room for enough Bettas to not have an issue?

Is it or not?

Sure i read earlyer somewere it said 5 female betta's tops in a 10 gallon tank. But dont hold me to that, im sure someone that know what there talking about will soon reply to your post.

Cool, so 5-6 Females would work. Thats great. Now, what about my filter. I have a HOB Power Filter. Will they be fine with this. Its fully cycled, so I have no intention of changing filters, so if this doesnt work, then Im going an different route, but I want your opinions.

Tanks setup:
HOB filter
Heater
Fake Plants (Decent amount)
One fake tree cave
One slate cave.

Does this sound good?

The more bettas you have in there, the less of a chance one will get picked on. Of course you dont want to over do it, I recomand atleast 6 females. I have had many more than that in a 10 gallon & as long as the tank is clean & there are no bullys, you'll be fine.. but remove any over agressive females if they dont calm down after awhile.

The filter should be fine.. Females can handle more current than the long finned males. But make sure you have pleanty of decor' so they can hide from eachother & the current if need be.
& since you have that.. it should work!

Sweet. Now once my 29 gallon tank clears up (Algae Bloom) Im going to add all my Cardinals and the rest of the Ottos into that tank, leaving my 10 gallon empty.

Then, im going to buy 6 females, acclimate them, then add them all in. (Fully cycled tank, so no issues adding all at once)

Is there anything else I can put in this tank? Couple shrimp maybe?

Thanks

Heres the tank they are going in. Have any suggestions?

Hi
Looks fine to me :good:

As stated already, it seems that slightly over-stocking females leads to a less aggressive community. Just makes sure the filter can cope.

10 gallons = 5 female fighters - well planted tank
10 gallon divided into 3 = 3 male fighters.

Thats what i would do depending on what you prefer :good:

Ben.
