So I just opened up a lovely 10 gallon formthe right fish and would like to do cichlids.

1st ?- Is there an appropriate fish from this forum for a 10 gallon or perhaps a couple.

2nd ?- My wife would like colurful ones is that also possible?

I posted this in african as well so feel free to answer on both

Txs in advance for your advice

I think pretty much the only cichlids you are going to get in a ten gallon, are a pair of Apistogramma, and even that might be a bit of a squeeze.

However, I stand to be corrected. :)

There aren't any 'dwarf angels' that I know of, Rams may be abit on the big size. However, there are several smaller species of Apisto that would fit in there quite happily. Is the tank long or tall? If it is a long tank Rams may be an option because of the increased ground space. :)

i currently have 2 kribensis in a 10 gallon tank and they seem to like it... they swim around from cave to cave shakin all crazily... i think they are in love lol

very nice colors on my kribs.... im getting a pair of bolivian rams for another 10 gallon of mine this weekend...... convicts in a 10 could turn out ugly.... bigger one will probably kill the smaller one... definately 2 males will kill each other... i had 3 in a 10 gallon and the bigger male attacked the smaller male a lot... didnt hurt him bad.. jus messed his tail up a bit.... the pair seems ok now but if the male and female dont pair up then i'll have to separate them.. i already separated the smaller male... things are going ok but i have to keep an eye on them and feed them a lot so theres no competition with food..

id recommend kribensis or bolivian rams.. both easy to keep, easy to breed, and are only territorial when they are breeding :D
