Well my little sister is going to get a 10 gallon tank for her birthday since she got jeleous of mine :p And well like any kid they want GUPPYS. Well heres the set up she wants to have in the tank for her. Set up cost $60.00 for everything

10 gallon
1 male guppy
2 female guppy
3-4 corys
4 neons

Well does this look overstalked ohh yeah she dont want her bays getting eaten from the guppys.

I agree with wuvmybetta, the neons are not a good idea. Four just isn't enough for a shoal and you won't have room for more, especially once the guppies start breeding.

If you get the cories, get some of the smaller species. For example the 3-inch bronze and peppered cories grow too big for a 10g. See if you can find pygmy cories, they only grow to about 1in. You could even get 5 of those.

Is that a good male:female ratio? I thought more was better, although I suppose that would mean more fry!

What are you going to do with them all 55gd?

Sounds like a cool idea to get kids interested in nature.

:)

:( Well since I killed the last batch of fry my little siste hasnt forgive me :( So shes going to buy herself a tank she alredy know a lot about guppys which ones are females which one are males and even snakeskins.

:D :D Yup :D :D And trust me she knows how take care of them.

Hi 55 :)

I agree with the others; forget about the neons!

As for the corys, 3 is enough to keep them happy and that will give her more room for the fry. She's going to need it before long.

I'd recommend getting bronze or albino C. aeneus corys for her since they are usually quite active and funny. They are great starter corys for anyone and probably still my favorites of them all. Here's a link with information about them:

I'm sure you'll have a good time helping your sister with her new tank.

well if you tell her to wait a little i maybe able to give you some guppy fry, i think the female is showing her belly

Ohh i dont need no more guppys I already have around 50 of them 3 months old. But she wants to have a snakeskin or a delta tail like B_Cs. Ok so the neons are out and 3 albino corys got it anything else I could add in there. ????????

You just need to add the heater, filter, and light :p

Seriously though, 3 cories and 3 gups are enough for a 10 gal. Unless you're not planning on having fry in there, then you can easily go with another guppy or a snail.

Unfortunately 10 gals just can't hold much, but you might be able to get about 12 inches of fish in there if you run a Penguin Biowheel mini, cuz that puppy will cycle the tank about 10 times per hour plus the biowheel helps to lower nitrIte and ammonia levels.

I just had to teach my little sister to clean her overpopulated 2 gallon tank- 2 guppys, a betta and a dwarf african clawed frog. That tank requires as much work per week as my 32 gallon tank, I'm not kidding.

I hope your sister has lots of luck setting up her tank.
The three cories and three guppies is a good way to go.
