Hi when I woke up this morning I had all of my rasboras hengeli and now one is missing. Could my pearl gourami eat one? They only eat tiny food so that would be surprising even tought the rasboras hengeli that I have are small. Yesterday I made a thread about my pearl gourami gasping for air during a lond time. could that be related to the fish that is missing? Like a water ammonia or oxygen problem even if it would be really surprising because I have quite a lot of plants. I really don't understand why I only find 5

Check the filter/filter intake. Also check inside the filter compartment.

Do you have a lid? If so, does it have any small gaps or openings?

It might be very possible it died of natural causes and then your shrimp/snails/other fish may have eaten it.

could it be stress? I only have 6 so maybe they were stressed, what do you think? I want to buy more but if it is the pearl gourami that ate them I will bring them back to my LFS. If someone has experience with pearl gourami and small fish I would like to know. I have corydoras, but I don't think they could eat a dead fish in 1 hour.. I don't know what to do

I have 5 pearl gouramis. In the same tank are three elderly chili rasboras, the remains of a shoal living out their last days. I've had the gouramis for 3 months and I still have three chili rasboras. I did think I was down to two but saw all three together last week.
The gouramis are not small, though not yet fully grown.

Chili rasboras are tiny fish, your hengel's rasboras will be bigger.

But any fish will eat a dead fish.

Thank you for the response, I assume one probably died and a fish ate it or this fish is really good at hide and seek

I have a question @essjay, do you think a pearl gourami would eat a full grown cherry shrimp? I didn't want to start a new thread for this question so that's why I am asking it there

I do have cherry shrimps as well, and I still have a lot after 3 months with the gouramis. I have not witnessed a gourami eating a shrimp but it is pretty certain they'll eat the babies if not the adults. I do have water sprite as a floating plant, which just about cover the surface and several plants have very long roots so there are lots of hiding places for the shrimps.
In the same tank I have Daisy's rice fish (Oryzias woworae) which are a lot smaller than the gouramis, about the same size as the Espe's rasboras. I have seen them attacking an adult shrimp, but they don't seem to have reduced the shrimp population.

Make sure you have plenty hiding places for the shrimps and you should be OK.

Just been in the same boat, with the same fish. Male Pearl Gourami turned territorial aggressive after living peacefully with the Rasboras, kept the Rasboras pinned behind a piece of driftwood, didn't even know how many of the 13 I originally had, were still here. Moved the PG to my 200ltr tank, the Rasboras came out of hiding within half an hour. Turns out I have 10.

PG then went on the offensive with the other fish in the 200ltr. I've had to switch him and the Rasboras around - luckily I have a habit of understocking so I have the room. PG now has the 120ltr to himself.

Mine is only a little agressive with the female but it was expected, he doesn't bother the rasboras so I think one died of something else. I hope my pearl gourami won't turn agressive overtime like your's did
