hiya, i was just wondering whether the 'general' 1 inch per gal of fish rule is UK or USA gal?

USA galls although obiviously there is a lot more to good stocking than that.

Sometimes it doesn't even really apply, like with kuhli loaches. But yes, it was made for U.S. gallons.

It doesn't apply to many species at all, but for the fish the beginner 'should' be picking, it's generally OK.
