1 gallon jar saltwater

I agree with Colin, you would need more water and you should put the jar near your window sill to get some light for the sea weed.
The shrimp are gammaris and will eat anything organic, you can feed them anything that is organic and you can feed them even fish flakes, but be careful, as Colin has already stated, be careful of ammonia spikes. In seawater, ammonia spikes are really deadly to livestock as the water is a pH of 8.5. I'm doing lots of research about salties as I'm going to have a reef tank with a couple of cleaner shrimp, an anemone, couple corals and maybe a little fish!

Thanks colin! I cant get any clear pictures and the little orange thing dissapeared. The leaves I broke off the little bit of rock that was attached so they would be more likely to live. I will monitor the ammonia. The jar is in my windowsill that gets lots of light but no direct sunlight.

Is it normal for those shrimp to be all different colors? Theres red and green/yellow and purple/brown

Thanks. I only ended up bringing one gallon of extra water home so will need to buy salt and a hydrometer

Itd be cool if you eventually work up to getting a 3 gal just for an invert tank for saltwater. That crab is adorable and id bet hed love a nice rocky place to come out onto

That's a good idea. I have a 3.5 gallon I could use starting next month :)

The orange thing could be a tube worm. They have a calcium based home shaped like a tube and when stressed they retract back into it.

Gammaris can vary in color depending on what they are eating.

If you are going to set up a marine tank, go for a 10+ gallon.

Did you thought about getting a 1 or 2 gallon tank for them when you get your salts and hydrometer?
Yep they'll either go in a 3.5 or something bigger if I buy another tank

So you already thought about getting a tank for them? Maybe you also could get a live coral?
Yep. I have a 3.5 gallon that I can use soon. Or else I could buy a bigger tank like a 10 gallon for them. I wouldnt do any fish probably. Just inverts
