1 ft Marine Tank

I'd say that 5 gallons is way too small for a stable environment the temperature will be very hard to control. (I assume its tank only and your not going to be running a BIG sump behind the scenes)
i have seen a 0.85G with a zoo frag and a snail (nassirus?) 5G is hard but not impossable

bigalsoh and i have a like... well its a beta tank.. about 3G (nothing but a peice of Lr for now... so... well whatever lol) light it will a 20W compact floro. (bigals has them...)

Max- while it may well be possible to keep tanks under 5 gallons stable with a frag and a snail, I think there might be a slight difference between this and a 5 gallon aquarium with an 18" diameter anenome and two 3" fish.

true... under 10G i dont think there should be any fish... even 10G is small for a full grown fish...

even 10G is small for a full grown fish...

A 10gal is plenty large enough for a fish that gets 3" or so. Any idea how many people keep full grown fish in 10gal tanks on this site? I would be willing to bet its over 50% of us.

hey chewy, could you could go a little bigger? unless you have to
have a certain size and dimensions to adhere to, maybe you could go a
little bigger. I am not doubting your knowledge or ability, nor am I trying
to discorage you, but you are asking a lot from such a small environment.
just one tiny oversight,(especially with a carpet anenome, which also will
outgrow that tank faster than you may have anticipated) could spell disaster.
I am in no way saying it can't be done, I just think if it is'nt absolutely
necessary, maybe it should'nt. :D

Ok, thanks all for your comments, esp. hyrookin. I think i did make some wrong choices of things i wanna put in my 1ft tank... I guess a carpet would be too big to put in such a small tank...
However, i have not decided what i should put in this 1ft tank... does anyone have any suggestions and comments on what i should put in a 1ft marine tank??
(Ps. - I am quite certain on the 1ft tank, it's just the inhabitants that i am not certain yet..)

hey chewy! just a couple suggestions- how about the watchman goby and
a pistol shrimp, that is a great example of symbiosis. or, maybe a small
species eel- such as a snowflake or a ribbon. I myself have been thinking
about getting a small tank for a mantis shrimp-I always found them very
interesting. good luck with whatever you decide!

Both those species of eel get to over 2 feet long...definitely would not work in such a small tank.... Perhaps you could put a clown goby in it?...they usually stay under 2 inches, and some varieties are VERY brightly colored!
