Hi, would it be possible for some advise, Over the last 2 weeks I have added 3 Guppys to my tank, 2 female and 1 male. 1 Female has already released fry but sadly 3 days later became very unwell, not eating difficult to swim and kept sinking to bottom. She also had a long clear string thing coming from her she has sinced died amd have examined her for illness of which unable to find. The 2nd female guppy is quite obviously pregnant, she has stopped eating but swims ok however I noticed something on her tale that looks like fluff on closer inspection she seems to have fluff all over her. I have treated the water with fugus/fin rot stuff. Im now worried about the male has he looks furry in one place but now dont know if im being paranoid.

I have no idea what my water levels are like as the pet shop checks for me. In my tank I also have neon tetra, glow light tetra, dwarf guarmi, platy and golden sucker loach.

My tank is 35 litres.

Help more than welcome.

Thanks for reading
Mandy

Hi

How long has your tank been running?
35 litres sounds very small for all those fish, is it a 9 gallon tank?

Buy some liquid test kits of your own.
Take a sample of your water to the lfs and ask them to write the readings down for you.

It sounds like you have a bad bacterial infections in your tank.

Long stringy white poo can be bacterial, constipation, internal parasites.

Signs of internal parasites are.
Long stringy white poo or clear mucas poo.
Enlarged anus or red inflamed anus.
Fish will look skinny or bloated.
Fish will sometimes swim on its side.
Bent spine sometimes.
Worms prutruding from the anus.

Your tanks severely overstocked.

If its sinking and not eating it definatly sounds like a swim bladder problem. One of my fish died from bad swim bladder problem. If you can try and feed it some pees that would help.

GOOD LUCK!

Feed some peas and add a bacterial med.
