i recharged the purigen because it was brown, i put it in there as before like in all my tanks i try not to use chemical media... i can hardly tell if my fish are alive, i do know my small guys are alive because theyre always at the top when feeding but when it comes to my large rainbows flying...

my plan is to age the filter in my 240 litre. But the whole circulation for the nutrients is why i was thinking about a powerhead. Although i have read in a few places that the bubbles create a great vaccum for water circulation.... i probably would have to by a new bubbler anyways as mine is...

well seeing as the only stores that sell marine stuff and ro water are in the ne and i'm in the sw it may just be worth the system....

well first off, the tank is not capable of growing plants due to it being an incandescant bulb. As far as stocking a male betta and a ADF would be fine in there, I know many people reccomend against this but i personally have and know people who have kept the species alive in bowls for 7+ years...

my one concern would be the amount of waterflow through it to allow proper air exchange and so it doesn't become a slighty-concentrated with ammonia and kill the fish. I say just drop the extra 10$ on a net breeder box

i had this grow on everything fake in my five gallon i took them out soaked em in a 9-1 bleach solution and put em back in... this was after 2 months of asking around though, never lost a fish!

my tank has 2 t8 life-glos on it. i was just looking at the timer on it and realized it was set to a 14 hour photo-period D:  ..... So what i have done is lights on at 9 off at 7 with a 2 hour siesta from 1-3. so lights are on a total of 8 hours a day

i'd say the tank is low-medium on the amoun t of plants and i'm dosing seachem excel (liquid carbon)

okay what if i did 10hours with a 2 hour siesta? or just in half totally whilst i'm combatting it?

lights are on 12 hrs a day,but i think i found the problem, now to control it, the problem is that i didn't rinse my pfs before putting it in and it probably put extra silicates into the  water i didn't rinse BC my friend told me i didn't have to (hes uses it in all his tanks but his salt)...

if i can't find anything from africa to use, then i will use MTS' because it's disgusting, besides when i add my bichir he will probably eat them, i thought they were a pest snail though?
