Most of the day from 9 to about 10 also its just one tube light that i have had for over 5 years lol.

So i have a planted tank and recently my tank has started to look really green i am not to sure if this is because of the light the light i have is one of them lights that are in built in the lid of the tank. the light is pretty old so i think i might just need a new light but i am not to sure.

i put sand in my tank and bought some liquid growth formula if that wont work the rooted tabs are the best bet.

I was just wondering if buying plants from ebay is safe or is my best bet to buy it from my local fish shop ??? kinda expensive in my local store ebay is alot cheaper.

yeah £70 is alot of money I can spend it on other things but the backgrounds look amazing much better than the normal ones u stick on the back.

Do I need to put anything under the sand in order for the plants to grow such as s soil? i saw something advertised in the pkfmag but its pretty expensive people on here did suggest to put cat litter under the sand what type of litter should i get ? and would i need to wash it?

my fish tank is about 3ft and I'm not to sure what other tropical fish i will get yet i am just sure that I want Cichlids in my tank. And i know for sure I will have a sucker fish I love them lol.

what type of Cichlids are fine with other fish? because I remember a while back my uncle had given me a few Cichlids that he had and they were fine with my other tropical fish. Now I cant remember the name of them.

Is it possiable to keep Cichlids with other tropical fish ? or not? I wanted to keep Cichlids as i like to see them grow big but I don't just want to have a plain Cichlid tank so i was just wondering if there is any risk of keeping them with other tropical fish.

dose anyone use TetraPlant CompleteSubstrate under there sand/gravel for plants? or is cat litter the best idea ?

ha ha lol. And once again i will like to thank everyone who has helped me as i cant leave the house for a few days i have just orderd 2 backs of play sand from argos and i will be using the pillow method to clean the sand with.
