One of my friends has told me that CO2 can go badly in a fish tank. Apparently it releases to much CO2 at the last 20% and it releases the last contents into the tank. This apparently stays in the tank and prevents the fish from getting oxygen, so they suffocate. Is this by any chance true...

It sound as if you have had added too many fish in a short period of time, and your filter could not cope with the waste that the fish were making, so inevitably, they died. Sorry to hear about the deaths but try not to add any for another week or so until your filter has had a chance to catch up.:)

I feed mine 2-3 for 5 ottos of algae wafers every 2 days, nice looking fish :)

Yes sorry... the tank has already been cycled and i would like to do a 50% water change just normally but topping up with RO water, can i put fish in straight after i have done the water change
