Ah weird, thanks though, I have 2 X 300 W heaters that were with the tank, both are set to 25 D, and obviously they turn themselves off when the temp is reached. They do kick off some heat, our lounge has never been so warm, there are 4 bulbs so not suprising on the heat. not a problem...

Oh, I have just worked out by your calculations and I have come up with the following for our tank, could you just double check them for me please, cause I have been told otherwise. 201 X 51 X 79, it works out at 810 litres, and 214 G, it does not sound right to me.

Thanks for your reply Ryn, I have just finished the tank and got it how I like, we have moved the Tin Foil barbs and parrotts into another tank due to them eating a few ottos unfortunalty. I will have to just look at them in the LFS for now, thanks again though. :sad:

I would love to keep a Silver Arowana, I think they are an amazing fish. However, i am not sure if it will be compatible with my current fish? ( See Signature ). Any information and advice please guys would be greatly appreciated. :blink:

Hi sorry knowone has replied, you should be ok, Parrots can and most probably will be terrotorial, if you keep a pair they tend to follow each other and give each other occasional greif. Depending on size of the Parrots to smaller ones would be best, but they do grow fairly quick depending on...

Good looking tank, I would go with a community, It is just so good to look at different things, get the tank cycled, and whilst it does this read up on some fish books, to get an idea of what you want. Can't wait to see the finished result. Good luck

it is a Hypancistrus zebra (Zebra Plec) we have 2 of them, fairly new so still hiding a little, took us ages to get them, rare so we have been told. Just noticed that you have 3 Black Sharks, fantastic :cool:

I run an XP3 and a Eheim 2229 WET/DRY. The Rena is good, easy to clean and prime, and has good flow rates. I think you should stick with the media provided with the filters, adding maybe some Ceramic Rings. Depends on what you will be keeping I suppose. It is a big old TAnk by the sounds of it. :D

If it helps, I just use one of those same timers, with the sections you push up and down to set the time for on and off, Touch wood never had any problems. I don't see why you cannot use them with flor bulbs, as they to are switched on and off. WEIRD. :blink:
