Thanks for this advice. The temperature is just below 24c constantly and changing 25% of the water weekly is keeping my tank look good and all the fish seem happy. What would you suggest? If my fish grow I'm more than happy to get a larger tank!

Nice tank you've got there. I've got the wood soaking (as suggested earlier) in a deep bucket and there's not a lot of brown water even after scrubbing it and it's not floating. Will have a go at my fish tank gardening skills later... hoping they're better than my attempt at normal gardening!

This answers my question Ben as to how long I wait to retest. Will test the amonia level and see what the results are. My goodness what a big tank you've got :D

Great advice, thanks. The water's going in gently to try and minimise as much stress as possible for my fish. Should I leave the tank when full for 24 hours and retest?

Thanks the_lock_man Amonia is 0.25ppm so a little bit of good news I guess. Despite have a bad bout of flu, I'm getting the strength from goodness knows where to try and help my little fish.
