any other suggestions for cleaner fish? thanks

Yellow Nape,Blue Johanni,yellow cichlid and peacock i'm thinking of,i cant find much info on cleaners for this set up so any suggestions appreciated

its a juwel 240 l 40 x 16 inches

Its seems as i'm in a very hard water area African cichlids will be the way to go, now 2 questions are 3 or 4 species ok together? and what cleaner shrimps,loaches etc would i be able to put in with them?

you've all been a great help thank you, the snails do/will they tell me anything? not lit of course :D One other ive turned the heater on, right or wrong?

like fish food? my test kit should be here tommorow, ive noticed a few live snails and how do you test for bacteria?

you'll be sick of me by the time i've finished :rolleyes: but can i get rid of the stones yet and what about cleaning the tank up? i wasn't expecting the tank till next week so its caught me out a bit luckily the aqua safe came this morning

just ran around like a lunie now got it running again water very cloudy,now whats next should i clean the filter a bit? it looks like it needs it

ok what about the filter media ? not been changed and the tank was only emptied a few hours ago, still a little water in the bottom of the tank (cat litter? nice idea, thanks)

i'd planned on adding sand and aquarium earth as i was thinking of maybe real plants? not sure on fish exactly but will have to be hard water tolerent,thought the original substrate might good as its been cycled?

The new tanks arrived (second hand but excellent condition)now it has the previous owners gravel (stone substrate)still would it be a good idea to use it without washing it or start afresh?

its not the intention it was just a passing thought, i just wondered if it was better water quality or not for tropical fish?

Hi all now i hope this is not too stupid a question but is it possible to use bottled water? just starting a new tropical aquarium but for many years have kept reptiles and amphibians and ive always used bottled water for them so was wondering if it was an option over tap?

thanks will have to research some hard water compatible fish and see what i come up with what are good clean up fish for hard water
